Dose-area product values were measured in paediatric micturating cysto
urethrography examinations in two dedicated facilities. The results ar
e compared, taking into account features of the X-ray rooms and differ
ences in examination protocol. Several optimization procedures were si
mulated or implemented, in order to estimate the dose savings which co
uld be attained. Potential savings identified in the dose-area values
reach about 85% far both centres.
