Sv. Shalaev et al., PROGNOSTIC VALUE OF PLATELET-FUNCTION DIS TURBANCES IN PATIENTS WITH UNSTABLE ANGINA (RESULTS OF ONE-YEAR FOLLOW-UP), Kardiologia, 35(1), 1995, pp. 9-13
With the aim of a search for possible platelet related predictors of m
yocardial infarction development in unstable angina multifactorial dis
criminant analysis of relationship of platelet function characteristic
s to results of one year follow-up of 121 patients was performed. Nine
teen parameters reflecting various platelet functions - aggregation in
vivo and in vitro, lipid composition of and lipid penroxidation in pl
atelets were included into analysis. The following 4 parameters had di
scriminating power in relation to myocardial infarction development (n
=37) and sudden death (n=3) during follow-up: lipid peroxydation produ
cts (diene conjugates), tree cholesterol fraction and platelet phoshol
ipids - phosphatidyl choline and sphingomyelin. Frequency of correct r
etrospective predictions when all these parameters were included into
model was 70%, Best coincidence of predicted and observed results of f
ollow up (76%) was achieved with the use of 3 parameters - free choles
terol, phosphatidyl choline and sphingomyelin in platelets.
