Abstract
The compounds XOClO (X = Cl, Br, and I) have been prepared in argon ma trices, by addition of X to OClO. Visible radiation transforms them in to XClO(2). The wavelength dependency of the transformations has been studied. ClClO2 and BrClO2 can be isomerized back to ClOClO and BrOClO , respectively, with near UV radiation.
