Abstract
A simple to use method was installed for the measurement of wounds con taminated with plutonium and americium by using a semiconductor detect or. This technique does not explicitly require the knowledge of the de tector efficiency but uses a plant Am-241 calibration source. A comput er programme has also been developed for the quantification of the con tamination according to the shape and the depth of the contaminant in the wound.
