The present study has been undertaken with a view to evaluate the impa
ct of fly-ash amended soil on growth and photosynthetic pigments of La
ctuca sativa L. It was seen that ten per cent treatment showed marked
increase in plant growth while twenty and thirty per cent treated plan
ts showed retarded growth as compared to control. Similar trend of inc
rease and decrease in pigment formation was also observed. Results ind
icate the utilization of fly-ash in low concentrations for better grow
th, dry matter production and increased photosynthetic pigments.
