Abstract
We describe the temporal compression of pulses from a diode pumped Nd: YLF additive-pulse mode-locked laser. Pulses at both the fundamental ( 1.047 mu m) and second harmonic (523.5 nm) wavelengths of the Nd:YLF l aser are compressed using either a fibre grating or a fibre prism comp ressor. Pulses as short as 250 fs are generated at 1.047 mu m and 523. 5 nm with peak powers as high as 4 kW.
