S. Chinnathambi et Ah. Lachke, AN EXTRACELLULAR ALPHA-L-ARABINOFURANOSIDASE FROM SCLEROTIUM-ROLFSII, World journal of microbiology & biotechnology, 11(2), 1995, pp. 232-233
Activity of alpha-L-arabinofuranosidase (EC 3.2.1.55) ranged between 0
.03 and 1.63 U/ml when Sclerotium rolfsii was grown in a synthetic med
ium containing different nitrogen and carbon sources. Agricultural and
forest residues such as rice straw, corn cob, groundnut husk, and app
le pomace were suitable substrates for enzyme production. Maximum acti
vity, 4.2 U/ml, was with pre-treated corn cobs.
