Abstract
The effect of a hypercaloric cafeteria diet an the accumulative abilit y of small intestine palmitic acid transport in female Wistar rats was studied using everted intestinal slices. Cafeteria diet decreased jej unal and ileal absorption of palmitic acid per intestinal mass after o besity had developed. A link between gastrointestinal functions, feedi ng behavior, and the development of obesity induced by cafeteria diet is suggested.
