Sb. Roy et al., A STUDY OF THE HARMONIC-GENERATION AND MINOR HYSTERESIS LOOPS IN GRANULAR SAMPLES OF BI-2223 - A COMPARISON WITH YBACUO, Superconductor science and technology, 8(3), 1995, pp. 155-159
We present a detailed study of the low-field minor hysteresis loops, a
nd the harmonic generation in magnetization, in sintered samples of Bi
-1.7(Pb)(0.3)Sr2Ca2 CU3O10. We report history effects as the Dc field
is cycled and as the Ac field is varied. We find, however, a qualitati
ve difference from similar studies in YBa2Cu3O7. We observe large harm
onic magnitudes in a Dc field regime where history effects are small.
This has a possible interpretation that the intergrain weak links are
magnetically hysteretic even when the grains are almost reversible. Th
is interpretation is in agreement with the recent measurements on hist
ory effects in transport J(c).
