Polioencephalomalacia was produced in 8 male buffalo calves of 6-12 mo
nths of age by drenching amprolium @ 300 mg/kg body weight a day till
the development of clinical signs. For control 4 buffalo calves of the
same age group were drenched with tap-water only. Sequential clinical
signs were recorded till death in amprolium-fed calves. The clinical
signs of polioencephalomalacia appeared between days 29 and 55 of ampr
olium administration. All the amprolium-fed calves died within 2-5 day
s after the appearance of clinical signs
