T. Kobayashi et al., GREEN CHEMILUMINESCENCE OF SNBR2 VAPOR IN NITROGEN DISCHARGE FLOW, Journal of photochemistry and photobiology. A, Chemistry, 87(1), 1995, pp. 1-5
Green chemiluminescence peaking at 505 nm is observed when heated SnBr
2 vapor is mixed with an activated nitrogen flow produced by microwave
discharge. The dependence of the chemiluminescence on the vapor injec
tor temperature suggests that the green chemiluminescence emitter is v
aporized SnBr2. Evidence is presented which indicates that the excitat
ion of SnBr2 occurs by energy transfer from the N-2(A(3) Sigma(u)(+))
state in the nitrogen glow.
