Jm. Wilson et al., A COMPARISON OF LASER-INDUCED FLUORESCENCE MEASUREMENTS IN HYDROGEN WITH COLLISIONAL RADIATIVE MODEL-CALCULATIONS, Journal of physics. B, Atomic molecular and optical physics, 28(5), 1995, pp. 765-772
The relative magnitudes of laser-induced fluorescence at H-alpha and H
-beta when a hydrogen plasma is pumped at the H-alpha transition have
been measured as a function of electron density in a small tokamak pla
sma. The measurement differ, by a small but significant amount, from t
he predictions of a collisional radiative mode. A range of possible re
asons for the discrepancy are discussed.
