Abstract
,3-dihydrobenzothiazol-2-ylidene)-2-thiobarbituric acid (4) have been synthesized by the condensation of 5-ethoxymethylene-2-thiobarbituric acid (2a-f) with o-aminothiophenol followed by oxidative coupling in d imethyl sulfoxide. The structure of the synthesized compounds (3-4) ha ve been established on the basis of their elemental analyses and spect ral data.
