Nuclear microprobe characterization of superconductor oxides. The loca
l elemental characterization (in a few mum3) of superconductor oxides
may be performed by means of the nuclear microprobe. According to the
nature of the ions of the beam, protons, deuterons or alphas, and to t
he type of the measured interactions, X rays, backscattered ions or nu
clear reactions, complementary informations may be obtained, mean comp
ositions, depth profiles or local crystallinity. The main limitation o
f the performances of the method is the modification induced in the sa
mple by the microbeam, due to a high level of local energy deposition.
