Abstract
A 10-year-old male suffering from acute optic neuritis is reported wit h multiple silent cerebral lesions, which remained visible only with f luid-attenuated inversion recovery sequences at 3-week intervals. Conv entional sequences with magnetic resonance imaging did not visualize t he lesions, Fluid-attenuated inversion recovery sequences are highly s ensitive for the detection of silent lesions in acute optic neuritis.
