Abstract
In this reply to Acklin (this issue) and Ritzler (this issue) we endea vor to clarify some of the points made in our original article. Most i mportantly, we do not see the idiographic-nomothetic and content-perce ptual axes of Rorschach interpretation as dichotomies. We do believe t hat the idiographic and content ends of the continua should receive in creased attention. Our content-idiographic approach to the test should be used in combination with the currently emphasized perceptual-nomot hetic approach. Further, we argue that our most inferential interpreta tions can be put on firm scientific footing though the requisite studi es have not yet been performed.
