Abstract
The toxicity of five chlorinated alkanes on the alga Scenedesmus subsp icatus was tested with an alga growth inhibition test. The test was sl ightly modified to enable testing of volatile compounds. Dispersion of the results could be reduced. EC 50 values obtained were lower than i n the original unmodified version. Results can be considered more reli able and relevant with regard to environmental conditions.
