Abstract
We consider the frictionless unilateral contact problems of a perfectl y plastic solid with a rigid foundation and two perfectly plastic soli ds, under an analogous variational formulation. For each one we introd uce a discrete approximation via the finite element method and in due course prove convergence. Also, we introduce a converging iterative al gorithm to the solution of the discrete problems and present some nume rical experiences.
