Abstract
Ruthenium(ii) dichloride complexes with (+)- and s(diphenylphosphino)- 4,4',6,6'-bibenzo[b]thiophene (1a), new chiral atropisomeric heterocyc lic ligands, reduce alpha- and (beta-oxoesters to alpha- and beta-hydr oxyesters with an enantiomeric purity comparable, if not higher, to th at reported for binap under the same experimental conditions.
