Abstract
The rate of hydrolysis of 2-nitro-4-trimethylammoniophenyl 2-picolinat e is remarkably enhanced when catalysed by a Cu2+ complex of surfactan t imidazole ligand possessing 2-hydroxymethyl and anionic charged grou ps in the co-micelles of sodium dodecyl sulfate; the rate enhancement is discussed in terms of multi-site interaction in the formation of a reactive ternary complex.
