Abstract
The genus Apterola is represented by the following species: kuenckeli Mulsant & Rey (= rubicunda Stal, gridellii Mancini and pedestris Stal) , lownii Saunders, 1876, iberica Horvath, 1899, ramburi Pelaez, 1942 a nd pallida Slater, 1964. The variability in colour and diverse charact eristics of these species as well as differences and similarities with other genus are discussed. The subspecies A. kuenckeli rubicunda Stal stat. nov. and A. kuenckeli obscura subspec. nov. are described. A ke y is included to the species of Apterola.
