Abstract
We show that for sufficiently high pump rate, large feedback coefficie nt and coarsely detuned cavity lengths a coupled cavity mode locked la ser (CCM), using an external resonator with an optical fiber, is insen sitive against-cavity length fluctuations and an active resonator stab ilization is not necessary. Such self-stabilized CCM operation origina tes from the self-adjustment of the laser frequency, which under appro priate conditions allows for continuous mode locked laser operation in the presence of quasi-stationary cavity length variation over many wa velengths.
