Abstract
An ethylenically dibasic acid amide was prepared by reacting anthranil ic acid with maleic anhydride and characterized by various methods. Th e unsaturated dibasic acid amide was used for preparing three novel un saturated polyesters with ethylene glycol (EG), diethylene glycol (DG) and tetraethylene glycol (TG), respectively. The molecular weights of the prepared polyesters were determined by the end group analysis. Th ese polyesters were diluted with styrene I acrylonitrile (AN) mixture to prepare curable resins with inhibited premature gelation. The effec t of the structure of the resins on their curing behavior and mechanic al properties has been investigated.
