Abstract
N-Terminal analogs of calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) were synt hesized and assayed for receptor binding affinity. Substitutions in th e a-helical region of CGRP with a linear ethylene glycol containing am ino acid, or with a beta-strand forming sequence resulted in analogs w hich showed significant affinity for the receptor.
