We study the value of the light quark masses combination m(u) + m(d) i
n QCD using both Finite Energy Sum Rules and Laplace Sum Rules. We hav
e performed a detailed analysis of both the perturbative QCD and the h
adronic parametrization inputs needed in these Sum Rules. As main resu
lt, we obtain m(u) (1 GeV2) + m(d) (1 GeV2) = (12 +/- 2.5) MeV for the
running <(MS)over bar> masses.
