Abstract
The objective of the present paper was to clarify the inconsistencies on parameters of two formerly developed resuspension models for Lake B alaton. With the aid of a new scale analysis based on the Richardson l aw it was demonstrated that the settling velocity of the resuspended s ediment particles is primarily dependent on the hydrodynamic condition s and the water content of the sediment. On the other hand the particl e size distribution of the bottom sediment does not play a significant role in influencing the settling velocity.
