The heat flux q(w)(t) evaluated by using data on isotherms in the coor
dinate-time plane is considered in this work. The possibility of optic
al heat flux sensor creation is discussed. The isotherms are recorded
by using temperature indicators. The mathematical statement of this pr
oblem is formulated as an optimization problem. It is solved with grad
ient methods and in each iteration the heat equation is solved by the
finite-difference method. The results of the numerical experiments are
