Abstract
In this paper the principle and theoretical basis of the step-heating technique for thermal diffusivity measurement is summarized. Applicati on of two numerical fitting methods for data reduction-least-squares a nd Levenberg-Marquardt methods-is described. Results of thermal diffus ivity estimation from both simulated and experimental data are present ed and discussed. Copyright (C) 1996 Elsevier Science Ltd.
