Abstract
The X-ray crystal structure of -dihydroxy-5-(3-hydroxyphenyl)-5-cycloh exen-1-one, C12H12O4, was determined and showed that the molecule cons ists of a conjugated cyclohexenone ring substituted by two hydroxyl gr oups and a 3-hydroxyphenyl group. There are three O-H ... O intermolec ular hydrogen bonds.
