Abstract
Each of the title compounds, C14H16P+.I- (1) and C14H16P+.Br- (2), cry stallized with the typical tetrahedral phosphorus center [the CH3-P-CH 3 angle is 109.0 for (1) and 110.3 degrees for (2)] having no interact ions with the associated anion. As expected, the two compounds are iso structural and essentially identical.
