We describe 2 HLA-B27 positive children with sernonegative enthesopath
y and arthropathy (SEA) syndrome who developed spontaneous (nontraumat
ic) atlantoaxial subluxation early in their disease course. Neither ch
ild had evidence of spinal cord compression but both had progressive a
tlantoaxial subluxation in spite of conservative treatment. Both under
went elective posterior cervical (C1-C2) fusion.
