Ai. Pashagin et Nv. Yakovleva, THE MAGNETIC-FIELD OF A DEFECT SLOPED TO THE SURFACE OF A PART, Russian journal of nondestructive testing, 30(5), 1994, pp. 367-372
The magnetostatic field of a crevice-type defect sloped to the surface
of the the part with uniform and nonuniform distribution of the magne
tic polarization charges along its boundaries is calculated. The equat
ions for the tangential and normal constituents of the field in relati
on to the angle of slope of the plane of the defect relative to the no
rmal to the surface are analyzed. A comparison of the calculated data
with the experimental showed that taking into consideration the nonuni
formity of distribution of the charges along the faces provides better
agreement with the experimental data than the model of uniform polari
zation. It is shown that under otherwise similar conditions the amount
s of the normal and tangential constituents of the field are practical
ly independent of the angle of slope of the plane of the defect.
