Abstract
This paper reviews the literature on protection of industry and concen trates on selected journal articles that appeared over the period 1979 -1993. The survey is organized according to the various instruments of protection in the manufacturing sector, and it is designed to acquain t nonspecialists with theoretical and empirical work in this area.
