The heat of fusion for DNNC (1,3,5,5-tetranitrohexahydropyrimidine) an
d its DNNC-d6 analogue compound have been determined using differentia
l scanning calorimetry analysis. No significant difference in the DNNC
and DNNC-d6 heat of fusion values was detected at the 95 and 99 perce
nt student t confidence levels. Melting points were also determined fo
r the subject compounds using this analysis technique. These melting p
oints are compared to literature values obtained by conventional metho
ds.
