Abstract
We present in this paper the research strategy developed for the defin ition of new explosive molecules. The application of our theoretical w orks to the conception of an insensitive explosive is illustrated by t he example of (5-amino-3-nitro,1H-1,2,4-triazole-1-yl)pyrimidine or DA NTNP. The synthesis method and the main characteristics of this materi al are discussed. The experimental behaviour of this new explosive is compared to the theoretical values obtained from our conceiving method ology.
