Abstract
(+)-Multifidene ((+)-1) has been synthesized starting from (R)-(cyclop ent-2-enyl)methanol ((+)-2) via its chloroformate 4, Go-mediated radic al cyclization reaction to the lactone (+)-6, and introduction of the olefinic side chains.
