N. Markovska et al., CANALIZED STATES IN A 2-DIMENSIONAL QUANTUM MODEL OF THIN-FILMS, Journal of physics. A, mathematical and general, 28(6), 1995, pp. 201-206
In the two-dimensional quantum model defined by Hamiltonian ($) over c
ap H (x,y) = -1/2 Delta(x,y) + (alpha + lambda cos y)[delta(x - a) + d
elta(x +a)] we revealed a particular solution with positive energy exp
onentially decreasing as \x\ --> infinity in spite of the tunnelling e
ffect. The existence of these canalized states cannot be explained in
terms of one-dimensional quantum theory and must be referred to as an
ingenious interaction between different degrees of freedom.
