Cationic zirconium complexes of formula [Cp(2)ZrBz](+), [Cp'ZrBz(2)](), or [ZrBz(3)](+) (Cp = eta(5)-C5H5, Cp' = Cp or eta(5)-C(5)Me(5), Bz
= CH(2)C(6)H5) have been tested as catalysts for the polymerization o
f ethylene and a-olefins. The catalyst performances have been compared
with regard to polymer productivities, molecular weights and stereore
gularities, and tentatively correlated to the structure of the ionic a
ctive species.
