Abstract
Analogue transmitter implementations pose severe linearity requirement s on the sources used to drive them. In this paper, an overview of a n umber of linearization techniques that have been developed for Mach-Ze hnder external modulators is presented. A novel dual modulation approa ch of linearization that offers compensation of over 26 dB with minima l external circuitry is discussed.
