Abstract
The nonlinear effects of a Mach-Zehnder modulator for analogue fibre-r adio systems have been studied. Of different modulation schemes, 8-PSK is more robust to the nonlinearity and an optimal modulating signal a mplitude exists for 16-QAM and 64-QAM. Bias point shift of the modulat or further degrades system performance.
