Jm. Blengino et al., PHYSICOCHEMICAL CHARACTERIZATION OF CORROSION LAYERS FORMED ON IRON IN A SODIUM CARBONATE-BICARBONATE CONTAINING ENVIRONMENT, Corrosion science, 37(4), 1995, pp. 621-643
Corrosion layers developed on iron in a carbonate-bicarbonate environm
ent in the active-passive potential range have been studied, in relati
on with Stress Corrosion Cracking (SCC) phenomena, by various physico-
chemical techniques: Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS), Inf
rared Spectrometry (IRS), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Energ
y Dispersive Spectrometry (EDS). The chemical and electrical natures o
f the corrosion deposits, as well as surface morphologies, have been i
nvestigated. The influences of both formation temperature and time hav
e been taken into account.
