Z. Wlodarczyk, ENERGY-DEPENDENCE OF INELASTICITY AND GLUON ACTIVITY IN HIGH-ENERGY REACTIONS, Journal of physics. G, Nuclear and particle physics, 21(3), 1995, pp. 281-305
The correlation between inelasticity and cross section is discussed fo
r a sample of theoretical models of multiparticle production which add
ress the question of inelasticity and its energy dependence. In partic
ular, assuming the gluonic origin of the growth of cross section, the
two-component valon-gluon model (VGM) is formulated and the energy dep
endence of inelasticity is derived. It is pointed out that the resulta
nt decrease in inelasticity arises as a consequence of the increase wi
th energy of the abundance of gluonic collisions.
