Abstract
The angular averaged mean-square displacement of Eu-151 in EuBa2Cu3O7- delta was measured as a function of temperature by Mossbauer spectrosc opy using the absorption area method. Large low-temperature anharmonic ity was found; i.e. the adiabatic potential experienced by Eu3+ ions p resents a 'wine-bottle bottom' shape with a hat region about 0.1 Angst rom wide. Comparisons with other experimental results are made.
