This paper describes ideas on how an electronic spreadsheet can be a p
owerful tool in teaching and learning about electrical circuits. We wi
ll stress three main features: a spreadsheet as a multi-approach high
level tool for interactive modeling and simulating; the role that it c
an play in curricular development, making it possible to study some to
pics that would otherwise not be accessible to students because they w
ould require a mathematical background too high for them; and the use
of spreadsheets in the study of two particular energy relationships th
at can be rich in providing insight about important physical propertie
s and technical aspects.
