The phenomenological problem of the character of charge transport in m
etals is investigated experimentally and analytically by taking Al in
transverse inhomogeneous magnetic field as an example. The inhomogenei
ty of magnetic field is modelled by a method of <<bending sample>>. Th
is makes it possible to realize the linear and exponential laws of fie
ld behaviour with a relative inhomogeneity of the order of 0.05-1 cm(-
1). The exprimental results are analysed by using the equation of cont
inuity with due account of linear field dependence of magnetoresistanc
e.
