Abstract
The elastic moduli of single crystals of a La2-xSrxCuO4 system are mea sured. A considerable anisotropy of the elastic moduli is observed in untwinned samples for x = 0. If is found that for x = 0.13 some of the elastic moduli undergo abrupt changes under the tetra - ortho structu re transformation. A theory of elastic properties of polydomain sample s is developed.
