C. Bollet et al., A SIMPLE METHOD FOR SELECTIVE ISOLATION OF STENOTROPHOMONAS-MALTOPHILIA FROM ENVIRONMENTAL-SAMPLES, Applied and environmental microbiology, 61(4), 1995, pp. 1653-1654
Stenotrophomonas maltophilia is a commonly found environmental bacteri
um that is associated with the plant rhizosphere. It shows increasing
prevalence in immunocompromised patients. We report a simple method fo
r selective isolation of S. maltophilia from soils which makes use of
both its resistance to imipenem and its requirement for methionine.
