Abstract
Selection of sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) plants, in which hypocot yl explants formed the maximum number of buds in callus culture, was u sed for improving the regeneration capacity of genetically different s amples. The frequency of regeneration in certain families was 100%. Re generated plants of R(0) and R(1) were obtained, and their morphologic al characteristics were studied. The frequency of formation of fertile R(0) regenerates was 2.0-4.1% of the total number of buds in callus c ulture.
