Sk. Semenova et al., ANALYSIS OF GENETIC-VARIABILITY OF FASCIO LA-HEPATICA USING POLYMERASE CHAIN-REACTION WITH RANDOM PRIMERS, Genetika, 31(2), 1995, pp. 273-275
DNA polymorphism of one of the most widespread species of helminths, t
he liver fluke Fasciola hepatica, was demonstrated using the method of
polymerase chain reaction with random primers (RAPD). Small definite
regional differences in the RAPD spectrum of flukes from Kursk and Kal
uga oblast's were detected. The greatest. differences were found when
comparing the spectra of flukes isolated from the livers of cattle exp
erimentally infected rabbit. The problems of population RAPD variabili
ty in F. hepatica are discussed.
