Abstract
A strategy for the design of new catalyst systems is outlined. Using i nformation from known reaction chemistries, novel catalyst systems can be prepared by ''remodeling'' the known catalysts to effectively comb ine their reaction chemistries with known reaction engineering concept s. Three examples of this strategy are illustrated. A brief discussion concerning the future prospects for this strategy of catalyst design is presented.
